Abstract:

The aim of the current research is to determine the impact of social networks in creating dramatic collective behaviors in urban public spaces. The research approach in this quantitative study, the research method in terms of objective, fundamental-applied and the method of data collection, is a descriptive survey type. The statistical population of the current study includes all people over 15 years old living in Kerman. Based on random cluster sampling method, 384 people were selected and examined. In order to collect data in the field part, a researcher-made questionnaire was used with a reliability coefficient of 0. 79. He is a resident of Kerman. Also, to test the hypotheses of the research, sample t-test, Pearson correlation, and regression were used. The results obtained from the hypothesis test show It showed that the average of all items is higher than 3 (theoretical average). Also, the correlation values between the research components with the amount of use of social networks are at a medium and high level. So that in today's world, no society can claim that it will be safe from the effects of this crisis. Today's religious and national identities, each in a different way, are facing some kind of crisis and inappropriate collective behavior. The highest correlation value between the amount of use of social networks and dramatic collective behaviors is in the dimension of social phobia (R=0. 518). Therefore, despite the fact that the media causes the development and strengthening of cohesion in many cases, but in the individual aspect,

Abstract:

Social anxiety disorder (SAD), known as social phobia, is considered a prevalent psychiatric disorder characterized by a constant fear of social positions. Frequently, social phobia occurs with other mental disorders including depression and substance abuse conditions. Although SAD is considered one of the most common types of mental disorders, proper management may be compromised in recurrent psychiatric comorbidity due to clinicians’ focus on secondary complications. Moreover, despite the description of social phobia as a polygenic and complex condition, few altered genetic and epigenetic factors are identified as causative agents. Over the past decades, several studies have suggested polymorphisms in serotonergic and dopaminergic-related genes as the etiology of social phobia. Serotonin, on the other hand, as a necessary neurotransmitter in the central nervous system (CNS), is involved in a variety of disease processes including social phobia. Nevertheless, the exact mechanism of serotonin-dependent development of the disease and the efficacy of suggested pharmacotherapies are not fully understood. The current study aimed to review the serotonin-dependent mechanisms by which SAD develops and discuss the current suggested strategies that are based on serotonin metabolism.

Abstract:

This research explored the role of perfectionism and parenting styles in explaining students’ social phobia. A sample of 396 students (215 females and 181 males) from GuilanUniversity responded to Baumrind’s Parenting Styles Question- naire (1973), Frost Multidimensional Perfectionism Scale (Frost, Marten, Lahart, & Rosenblate, 1990), and the Social Phobia Inventory (Connor, Davidson, Churchill et al. , 2000). The findings based on Pearson correlation showed that social phobia was positively correlated with authoritarian parenting styleand with two dimensions of perfectionism including “concern over mistakes” and “doubt about actions". Social phobia was negatively correlated with authoritative parenting style and parental expectations (a dimension of perfectionism). Implications are discussed in terms of interactions of parenting educational con- sequences and parents' personality characteristics on children's mental health.

Abstract:

Cognitive theories of emotional disorders posit that data processing biases playa crucial role in the maintenance and possibly the development of mood and anxiety disorders. Researchers have identified four cognitive biases in anxious individuals: attention, memory, judgment, and interpretation biases. Examination of data processing biases in social phobic individuals has demonstrated that they also show these four cognitive biases. We examined the hypothesis that compared to non-patient controls (NPC) and individual with other anxiety disorders (OAD), individuals with generalized social phobia (GSP) would tend to interpret ambiguous social scenarios negatively when provided with various alternative interpretations.Participants were presented with 22 ambiguous scenarios each followed by three possible interpretations: positive, negative and neutral. Fifteen scenarios were based on social events and the rest were non-social ones. Participants were asked to rank order the three interpretations according to the like hood that each would come to their mind and also to a "typical person's" mind in similar situations. So, the results revealed that GSPs significantly (P<0.01) tended to choose negative interpretation of social, self-relevant and social self-relevant events more than two control groups. The results of the present study support this hypothesis than a specific negative interpretation bias may be involved in the maintenance of social phobia.
